A useful filter starts with deciding which car you would actually buy. Your equipment wishlist may be long, but every item does not need to narrow results immediately. This method helps prepare criteria for manual Otomoto and mobile.de searches and OtoSnajper notifications. The aim is a shortlist worth reviewing, rather than the largest possible number of alerts.

Separate essential requirements from preferences

Write your requirements in two columns. In the first, put conditions that would make you reject a car: maximum price, a required body style or a particular fuel. In the second, put preferences such as colour or extra equipment. If uncertain, ask whether you would reject a good example solely because it lacks that item.

Listings do not always contain complete information. Requiring every equipment detail from the start may restrict you to the most thoroughly described offers. Review important details in the full description or with the seller. A filter selects candidates for that assessment.

An example worksheet for your first trial

Suppose you want a family estate with an automatic gearbox and have already chosen a model. This illustrates the method, rather than recommending a particular car or market price. Choose numeric limits based on your own budget and the results you see in the portal.

Separate searches with different purposes

If you are looking for a personal car and dealership stock, record separate requirements. Treat buying in Poland and travelling to Germany separately too. A domestic car close to home and an import from a distant region involve different time, documents and collection arrangements, even when the model is the same.

mobile.de listing prices are in euros. Do not directly copy a budget expressed in Polish zloty into that filter. Prepare a separate price ceiling and collection budget. Fields in a portal and options in a particular tool can differ; discuss the requirements you want OtoSnajper to monitor when activating the trial.

Too many alerts: what should you change?

  • Review several rejected offers and record one common reason for rejecting them.
  • If the model or body is the problem, narrow that parameter first.
  • If cars exceed your budget, check the price limit and source currency.
  • If the offers fit but are unavailable, the issue is assessment and contact rather than the filter itself.

Give yourself time to assess subsequent offers after a change. Changing model, price and mileage together makes it harder to identify what helped. A brief note is enough: the parameter, why you changed it and whether new alerts are more useful.

No alerts: establish the cause first

No messages may mean no new matching offers, overly narrow criteria or a notification-delivery issue. Check the Telegram chat first. If messages are there, review chat muting and phone permissions. If there are none, compare your criteria with current portal results and contact us when you need your access checked.

Evaluate the filters over seven days

Record three things: useful offers, the most frequent rejection reason and time spent reviewing listings. Do not assess the tool only by message count. A few relevant notifications may be more convenient than a long list of cars you would never buy.

To prepare your own search, explore the Otomoto bot or mobile.de notifications on Telegram. Request a free 7-day trial. We will help establish parameters relevant to your purchase, and you can assess the result on your chosen models.

Quick test on your own filters

Set models, budget, and margin threshold. For 7 days, check whether alerts give you a real edge over manual refreshing.
